Welcome to.. Don't forget to let me know that you came, nudge me! :) If - Taeyeon.mp3 - taeyeon Tuesday, March 25
So fret not, I'll keep you excited with my amateurishly-taken-photosss! DAY 1: Flew to NY with American Airlines for less than 1 hour (which is negligible compared to my 30-hours-trip to go back Indo), reached JFK airport then took the scary Subway to downtown Manhattan. The subway is nothing like the Singapore's MRT nor Hongkong's MTR nor Japan's Shinkansen nor SF's Bart nor DC's Metro. Frankly the subway sucks big time. 1. It's uber dirty 2. It's uber dark 3. It's uber scary 4. It's uber expensive (it's $2 once you swipe the card!) 5. It's uber complicated and confusing 6. It's uber inefficient oh well nevermind, I could go on and on.. anyway, so that's my hotel -Affinia, on 31st St and 7th ave. very strategic location! right across Madison Square Garden "The World's Most Famous Arena in the heart of New York City" -> google it if you don't know dumbass. After checking in, we went to Century 21, a dept store of branded stuff at low prices. Bleah I didnt buy anything there it was too crowded and messy! Sooo, feeling dejected after failing to fish any good deal, we decided to go to: Yup! that's Times Square! beautiful as ever. all the LCDs etc etc, even Bank of America has digital board for its name. Seems like you either have it or you don't. In the photo you could see Hard Rock Cafe, which I think is dying in popularity just like Planet Hollywood. Anyway, we went to Times Square since we were going to Broadway! Yes, THAT broadway. We were going to watch: ![]() ![]() Chicago the Musical! There's never been a better time to experience Chicago, My first time watching a Broadway show la!! was soo cool! even though it was all jazz-y (I don't like jazz, fyi) but the play was funny and very interesting. The casts were not stunningly beautiful tho~ That's me waiting in line outside the Ambassador Theatre. Apparently they don't wanna waste money and space to build a waiting room inside since they wanna maximize the theater size hence maximizing the number of seats! So there we were queuing in the freezing cold weather of NY! sigh The interior of the theater was beeeeeeeeautiful! Chandeliers dangling everywhere, excellent architecture and murals *love* Back to the hazzle buzzle of Times Square and took random photos of the night lights and M&M's store. DAY 2: Ran around Manhattan in the morning to catch the shuttle bus to go to the harbor to catch the cruise! The cruise left at 11am. It was sooooooooooo windy and the wind was freezing cold that noone basically stayed on the deck the whole time. However, the narcissist me wanted to immortalize the moment hence I persist through the weather and took photos for your enjoyment :p See how wildly my hair was flying?? And yup that's the Statue of Liberty. I'm getting one step closer each visit to NY. maybe one day I'll actually be ON the statue ;D That's the Financial District! the Broadway of the finance major people (me included)! yeahhh you see that blue-made-of-glass-building right there? That's gonna be my office in 5 years time!! muahahahahaha! After gulping enough wind, we decided to get some real human food. Hence, Chinatown comes to mind! HAHAHA.. found a Malaysian restaurant called "Jaya" in one of the secluded streets of Chinatown and guess what we found! KANGKONG BELACAN!! Jeez I've never been happier to see a kangkong before. LOL.. Speaking of Kangkong, apparently the state of DC banned its presence (don't ask me why) hence the lack of its existence here (which explains my deprivation) D: Then, we went to SoHo which was packed with Europeans! Just because their Euro is so strong now and USD is so cheap they are invading the American market to take advantage! *grumps* not fair. When's IDR turn? sigh So after hours of continuous window shopping (all stores were of brands that are unaffordable LOL) we finally decide to grab another meal! We consensus-ly chose Korean town and its famous Kalbi :) Next we went to the Empire State building. went to the 86th and 102nd floor! 102nd floor was soooooooooooo pretty! I tried taking photos but to no avail since it was blurry and tiny. The photos above were taken from the 86th floor. DAY 3: New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street! Btw, my eyes were not closed it's just the way they are so leave them alone. lol. And that's the famous New York bull and its balls :) Before Wall St, we walked through the whole Fifth Avenue and went to Rockefeller Center, Trump Tower and St Patrick's Cathedral. My goal in life should be: To own Dian Tower or Dian Center LOL -Another random picture of Times Square taken on the last day. There were no photos taken on Easter Sunday due to my increasing laziness to shoot and furthermore, to blog ;p header by: sealedcards
